We all move through the world in our own way.

There’s now scientific evidence to support that how we experience our environment—at home or at work—gives shape to how we feel, our values and beliefs, self-image, what we generate or create, and inspire in those around us. The act of designing these physical worlds and lifestyles, is our passion. The work we do is a measured and intentional art that has its own rewards—beyond the beauty of the reveal. It’s a process. It’s sensible as much as it is sensate. It’s showing up with charcuterie and mood boards. It’s creating an atmosphere that evokes the values dear to each person, project or company. It’s a living space. A visual feast. A dance with imagination. It’s a space that creates a sense of openness and joy. A sense of place.

We are WDP. Portland-based placemakers since 2003, with trusted partners and clients, all over.

Arielle and Travis Weedman,
Founders + Principals

SUPER POWERS

Arielle’s an artist at heart, and is meticulous about creating designs that are relevant, grounded and authentic to each client. Left-brained balance means asking questions; bringing calm, focus, clarity and honesty to groups. Travis? His unflagging devotion to fresh, functional and inspirational designs. He has a unique ability to bring focus to each project with a straightforward, yet conceptual approach. Part optimist, part dreamer, Travis navigates a jobsite with a balance of humor and focus.

HOMETOWN

Travis grew up on the mighty Mullet River in Plymouth, Wisconsin where down-to-earth people call BS real quick. Arielle has experienced the weird, the wonderful and wild ride of Portland as a proud native who’s enjoyed watching Portland mature into the one-of-a-kind city it is. Together with their kiddos, Harry and Hazel, they call Portland home.

  • CLAIM TO FAME

Arielle: “I have a semi-famous chocolate chip cookie recipe. People have lied, cheated and stolen to get my cookies.”

Travis: “I once created a series of 30, large-scale art pieces—one of which was purchased by the Director of Collections for the Portland Art Museum. That was fun.”

    LOVE & LOATHE

“We love working together. As cliché as that sounds, it’s how we function best in the world of design. Loathe? We’re not fans of ‘the big reveal’ you see so much of these days. As partners, it’s critical we bring our client along with us, start to finish throughout the process. We still love creating that magic of the moment though.”

    BURNING QUESTION

“Ask us about our other life as cat-product designers.”

Meet The Team

Erin Schultz
Interior Designer

  • Erin is an interior designer at WDP and brings a wealth of experience and a keen creative eye to our projects. Originally from Eastern Washington, Erin's background as a Project Manager and Interior Designer for a range of large-scale projects showcases her versatility and dedication to her craft. Her thorough approach and well-considered designs consistently impress, making her an invaluable asset to our team.

Beyond her professional achievements, Erin enjoys DIY projects, thrifting, crafting and exploring Portland's vibrant food scene. On the weekends you might find Erin playing with her pup or honing her Karaoke skills. As a former WSU Radio DJ, we are thrilled Erin chose the path of Interiors and to bring her talent and enthusiasm to WDP!

Jenn Judge
Procurement Specialist

  • Jenn is our procurement superstar with a penchant for pink and a love for all things glittery! After working at big-name companies like Nike and Microsoft, Jenn decided it was time for a change of pace – and lucky for us, she chose WDP! While she's a pro at crunching numbers and managing vendors, Jenn's fun-loving spirit shines through in everything she does. From her extensive knowledge of pop culture to her unbeatable gaming skills, she's the ultimate multitasker. So we raise our fancy glass with Jenn: the queen of spreadsheets, the party planner extraordinaire, and the epitome of smart, fun, and fabulous!

Ryan Kilgannon
Architectural Designer

  • Ryan, an architectural designer at WDP, brings excitement and versatility to our team. A New York native with roots in Raleigh, NC, Cincinnati, OH, and now thriving in Portland, Ryan is an outdoor enthusiast and a passionate car lover. He developed his love for hiking along the Hudson River Valley, particularly enjoying his favorite trail "Breakneck Ridge". During his time at NC State University studying architecture, he cultivated a fondness for contemporary design and sustainable practices, while also relishing in the beaches of the Outer Banks and indulging in Bojangles fried chicken and biscuits. His experience in Cincinnati refined his eye for detail in historic architecture and craftsmanship, complemented by his adventures along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Outside of his architectural work, Ryan finds joy in tinkering with and racing cars. We are delighted to have him as part of our team.

  • Charlie is not your average cockapoo—he's larger than life and overflowing with love. He's a real people-dog, always eager to cuddle up or chase a ball with his favorite humans. But watch out for his overenthusiastic greetings; he tends to sprinkle a little excitement when he meets new friends. Maybe Charlie Sprinkles would've been a more fitting name!

  • Meet Mr. Pickles, our pint-sized pup with a larger-than-life personality.  At first, he might seem like a spicy pickle, but once you earn his trust, he's the sweetest companion you could ask for. Whether he's enjoying some alone time or socializing with his favorite humans, Pickles keeps us guessing with his mysterious ways. Sometimes we wonder if he's our late cat Josie reincarnated—Josie, is that you?
